Hello There.

WE ARE THE GLORIOUS NEW REGIME

AND WE ARE TAKING OVER

One self-referential blog at a time.

We were asked to present to a university conference on last summer’s UK riots.

(Our lawyers have advised us not to mention the institution in question)

We sent Chief Scribe Chic P to deliver our address to assembled delegates.

The speech, presented here, was variously described as “bizarre”, “frightening” and 

“a piss-take, surely?” by attending local press.

Here, we present the speech in full:

Youth of the world!

You are being watched, evaluated, judged, dismissed –

But you are potential, that which we find so irresistible.

You are better versions of us,

You are capable of so much –

So much that

We could have done, but have never done,

For reasons we cannot fathom.

You are the rushing hope that will burst our hardened hearts,

You are at once pitiful and monstrous, caring and callous;

You are the very best and the very worst of us.

Please don’t fuck it all up, like we have done….

Please don’t waste all your talents, like we have done

Please don’t squander all your opportunities,

The way we have done.

Please don’t grow up to tell everyone

What they ought to have done

The way we have done.

Join us or be crushed under the weight of our self-righteousness,

The rushing tumult of our bursting hearts

In this dangerous and beautiful world of ours.

We are at once pitiful and monstrous.

And we will crush you where you stand.

If you let us.
